The Berlinale has released its first on-screen program announcements for the 2026 edition, with initial titles unveiled in Generation and Panorama.
African narratives in the first wave include:

- “Black Burns Fast” — Sandulela Asanda’s South African debut set at a boarding school (Generation 14plus)
- “Only Rebels Win” — Danielle Arbid’s Beirut-set love story with a Sudanese protagonist (Panorama)
- “Trop c’est trop” — Elisé Sawasawa’s documentary set in Goma, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (Panorama Dokumente)
Further Competition, Forum, and Encounters announcements are expected in January 2026.
The 76th Berlinale runs February 12–22, 2026.
