I have teased this registry to subscribers over the past several months as part of the larger African Screen Intelligence work taking shape inside African Film Press (AFP) — including the streaming and pay-TV infrastructure tracker, the co-production treaty tracker, the in-development financing map, and AFP Dispatch, the news product now being developed for industry professionals who need African screen-sector information in a more structured, easily-digested form.
Deciding when and how to introduce the registry has not been simple. I could keep working toward a near-perfect version, or open a first slice now, let subscribers use it, and use the feedback to improve the platform.
