Localized Pricing Expansion: Akoroko Premium Now Available in 15 Countries

Starting March 1, I'm expanding localized pricing for Akoroko Premium across additional African countries. This builds on the expansion strategy first introduced in April 2025 and continues to make the platform's offerings more accessible across Africa.

Localized pricing means I adjust my subscription fees based on each country's economic conditions. Instead of charging everyone the same US dollar amount, I set prices in local currencies that better match what people can reasonably afford in different markets. This makes the service accessible to more professionals while still positioning it as a premium product within each local context.

Localized pricing is now available in 15 countries:

Original April 2025 launch cohort: Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Jamaica.

New countries added, effective March 1, 2026: Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, and The Gambia.

Additional Local Pricing — March 2026 Expansion

Note: The original nine-country pricing table remains unchanged.

  • Democratic Republic of the Congo — 9,100 CDF per month / 81,900 CDF per year
  • Egypt — 290 EGP per month / 2,610 EGP per year
  • Ethiopia — 770 ETB per month / 6,930 ETB per year
  • Malawi — 6,950 MWK per month / 62,550 MWK per year
  • Rwanda — 8,700 RWF per month / 78,300 RWF per year
  • The Gambia — 290 GMD per month / 2,610 GMD per year

The pricing structure remains consistent with April 2025: annual subscriptions are set at nine times the monthly rate.

If you are based in any of the newly added countries, and you are a subscriber (and you are, because you're reading this), you can now subscribe in your local currency.

Why These Countries?

Simple. The additional Anglophone markets are the result of growing interest and engagement, even when it's incremental.

I don't run marketing campaigns; not yet. Beyond occasional social media teases, new subscriptions tend to be organic — followers on social platforms, word of mouth, and my appearances in various international spaces, particularly throughout last year.

So when someone in a country I have not actively engaged with, or have had limited engagement with, subscribes — even for the 7-day free trial — I pay attention. When it happens more than a few times, I take it seriously.

I also track industry movement across the continent. When I observe early activity — whether private or institutional — in a country that has been largely absent from continental screen sector discourse, I monitor it closely.

These new country additions meet one or both of those criteria.

I've also started seeing traction from Francophone Africa. While Akoroko Premium operates as an English platform, development of a French-language version is underway. It's not just a matter of translating the email reports. It means building an ecosystem of the Akoroko Premium platform for French-speaking markets. It has to stand on its own, with the right people and systems in place to do it properly. I'm more than overstretched as is. But the interest is certainly there.

What This Means for You...

If you're currently based in one of the 15 countries above (including the six new additions) and would like to switch your subscription to your local currency price, just reply to this email.

Of course, feel free to forward this announcement across your networks!
