Who’s Actually Distributing Films Theatrically Across Africa?

This is the first published attempt by Akoroko / African Film Press (AFP) to map the distributor landscape across Africa officially. It’s certainly not the last word. It’s the result of researching a starting list of roughly 40 companies using a combination of our own industry knowledge, research across English, French, Portuguese, and Arabic sources, direct contact, and verification against approved industry databases and trade press.

To be specific about what “couldn’t verify” means: it doesn’t mean those companies don’t exist or are not active. It means we either found no trace, or found a trace that confirmed existence but not theatrical release activity — at least not in the last 24 to 36 months.
