Berlinale Spotlight Returns to Accra – September 3–7, 2025

Berlinale Spotlight: Accra is back for its second edition, running September 3–7, 2025, at the Goethe-Institut in Cantonments, Accra. All screenings begin at 6:30 pm daily in the courtyard.

Presented by The Falcon, an upcoming cinema and cultural space in Berekuso, Greater Accra, and led by Jacqueline Nsiah (The Falcon Ghana, Berlinale Selection Committee), this year’s program will showcase nine of the thirteen African films that premiered at Berlinale 2025.

Audiences in Ghana will experience a wide range of independent cinema from Africa and its Diaspora, including bold feature debuts by Berlinale Talents alumni.

– Sept 4 | 5:00 pm – GIZ Panel: The role of TVET in Migration Pathways

– Sept 4 | 6:30 pm onwards – Anba Dlo, Don’t Wake the Sleeping Child, The Settlement

– Sept 5 | 6:30 pm onwards – Cobalt; GIZ Panel: Mining, Sustainability and Human Rights in Ghana; Ancestral Visions of the Future (Q&A with director Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese)

– Sept 6 | 6:30 pm onwards – Khartoum (Q&A with director Ibrahim Snoopy); Minimals in a Titanic World

– Sept 7 | 7:00 pm – Closing Film: Dreamers (Q&A with director Joy Gharoro-Akpotojor)
