On October 23, 2025, The Walt Disney Company announced that Rochelle Knock will join the company in December as VP, Disney+ & Networks and Country Head for Sub-Saharan Africa. Knock will represent the company, driving the overall business growth strategy in this territory and cultivating collaborative relationships to deliver on growth opportunities.

With senior executive experience at African media and telecom companies, including MultiChoice, Knock will oversee Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming service (Disney+) as well as its linear networks and broader business development across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Though Disney has operated on the continent for decades via linear TV and film distribution, its streaming service has yet to expand more broadly across Sub-Saharan markets. Does Knock’s appointment hint at Disney’s readiness to elevate its growth ambitions in Africa against an increasingly consolidated streaming landscape?
