NO U-TURN: From Nigeria, in Search of a Better Life in Europe — Watch the Acclaimed Documentary

In 1998, at 18, Nigerian filmmaker Ike Nnaebue attempted migration from Nigeria to Europe, through Benin, Mali, Mauritania, and Morocco, but never reached his destination.

In his heart-wrenching documentary, “No U-Turn,” he retraces that journey with a camera, meeting others on the same path.

Although he never reached Europe, Nnaebue spent two years in Gambia, immersing in theater and film, which shaped his career.

Now, with evident migration perils showcased frequently in media, he seeks to comprehend why many young Africans still risk it all for a perceived brighter future elsewhere.

“No U-Turn” premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2022, and toured the international film festival circuit.
