From British-Nigerian Actress Fola Evans-Akingbola (Netflix’s THE NIGHT AGENT) comes UNTOLD STORIES: HAIR ON SET, which delves into the overlooked challenges faced by Black British actors and actresses regarding their hair in the context of working in film and television.
The documentary brings together a group of Evans-Akingbola’s peers to share their personal experiences and struggles with hair on set. From clueless makeup artists to the pressures of conforming to industry standards, the project sheds light on systemic issues and calls for greater inclusivity and understanding.
It promises to be a revealing look at the intersection of identity, beauty, and representation in the entertainment world.
“This has been a labor of love, many years in the making and I’m so excited to share that UNTOLD STORIES: HAIR ON SET will be premiering on Sky TV this October,” Evans-Akingbola said. “Thank you to everyone who so generously gave their time and energy to help make this possible. Thank you to all the amazing contributors who shared their story with me. I can’t wait for you all to watch.” ~
UNTOLD STORIES: HAIR ON SET premieres on Sky TV in the UK, in October. No word on whether it’s expected to travel.
